Our Company

Petrichor Painting was founded by Garnet and Faber, two friends who bonded over their shared background of working with their hands. Whenever you work with us, you can trust that we will personally handle every step of the project. From start to finish, you can count on the fact that the people doing your estimate and answering the phone are the same ones painting your home and doing the final inspection with you.

Our Values

Drawing on our backgrounds in the visual arts, and wide-ranging painting and trades experience, we bring an elevated attention to detail to every job. We guarantee that every client is treated with the same honesty, integrity, and high standard of workmanship we hold ourselves to.

Our Team

Garnet Dirksen

Garnet brings a lifelong passion for restoration and maintenance work to every job. He first picked up a paintbrush as a kid, maintaining his childhood home alongside his parents in Merritt, B.C. He later worked for 5 years at a sawmill to help put himself through school, eventually completing two university degrees. Prior to starting Petrichor Painting, he spent 8 years as an art gallery preparator/technician in various institutions. These roles involved extensive amounts of building and painting work and handling irreplaceable works of art. His interest in restoration carries over to his spare time, where he enjoys working on 90s Jeeps and IBM typewriters.

Faber Mo Neifer

Faber has been working on paint jobs all over the Lower Mainland for most of his life, starting out as a painter’s helper for his dad, who ran his own painting company. By the time he was 16 he was spending his summers working full time in the family business, learning the trade and the old-school values of uncompromising quality, integrity and attention to detail. He continued to paint houses to support himself and fund his art practice while studying at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. He struck out on his own while finishing school in Montreal, where he met Garnet at Concordia University. There, they started planning what it might be like to start their own painting business after school, which is how Petrichor Painting got its start. When he’s not tackling the next paint job, Faber is usually working on his latest art project, planning his next road trip across the country, or looking forward to DnD with his friends.
